Segunda sesión del curso de postgrado «Various Forms of Kabbalah in Castile (Thirteenth to Fifteenth Centuries)», que presenta cómo, a diferencia de otras formas de esoterísmo judío medieval, se testimonia en Castilla un renacimiento en las literaturas cabalísticas de algunos mitos judíos más tempranos. Desde este punto de vista, los cabalistas de las escuelas castellanas de cábala, tanto de las formas provenzales como catalanas de cábala, así como la cábala profética de Abraham Abulafia. El profesor Idel analiza algunas de las posibles fuentes de la revitalización mítica.

Second session of the course «Various Forms of Kabbalah in Castile (Thirteenth to Fifteenth Centuries)», which presents how, unlike the other forms of medieval Jewish esotericism, we witness in Castile a renaissance in Kabbalistic literatures of some earlier Jewish myths. From this point of view the Castilian Kabbalists differ from what is known in the Kabbalistic literature prior to the emergence of Castilian schools of Kabbalah, either in Provençal and in Catalan forms of Kabbalah, or from Abraham Abulafia’s prophetic Kabbalah. Prof. Idel discusses some of the possible sources of this mythical revival.
