Among them 80 scientists are professors. Also the IOZ have 600 Ph.D. and MS students and 120 postdoctoral fellows. IOZ has 5 laboratories and a zoological museum: State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Pest Insects and Rodents, State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Biology, State Key Laboratory of Biomembrane and Membrane Biotechnology, CAS Key Laboratory of Animal Ecology and Conservation Biology, CAS Key Laboratory of Animal Evolution and Systematics as well as over 6.1 million specimen’s collection museum. Some new research progress by IOZ scientists will be introduced.

Dr. Zhang’s research group, Identification and Management of Invasive Alien Species (IMIAS) mainly focus on systematics of Curculionidae (Coleoptera) and spread mechanism and control methods of invasive pests including Colorado potato beetle, codling moth, cotton mealybug, etc. An International Cooperation Research Project with the title ‘Potential Invasive Weevils of the World’ supported by NNFC will be presented.
